Singing Psalms and hymns to the glory of god
The music ministry at Centennial ARP Church is a vital part of every worship service and has opportunities for adults of all ages, as well as children of all ages. Utilizing the scriptural mandate to sing Psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs as part of our worship experience, great care is taken to be sure the selections are Scripture-based and, as far as is possible, are directly tied to the pastor’s chosen texts.
Centennial has a strong music program. The adult choir is open to all who desire to be part of the worship experience through music. The only requirements are faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and commitment to rehearse regularly. The adult choir prepares and sings a variety of excellent music ranging from traditional to contemporary, and incorporates music from other ethnic backgrounds, as well as oratorios and cantatas. In addition to an excellent pipe organ and grand piano, other instruments are used.
The youth and children’s choirs, which involve most of the children of Centennial, sing frequently during the worship services and also perform at other activities of the church.
Youth and Children's Choir
The Youth and Children's Choirs play an active role in training our children to "sing and make music from your heart to the Lord" (Eph. 5:19b). The Centennial choirs sing during the worship service throughout the year and present special music for Christmas, Palm Sunday, and Youth Sunday (Mother's Day). Choir members also enjoy singing to our shut-ins each Christmas. One of the highlights of the year for choir members is attending the Bonclarken Music Conference each July.
