The Saying is Wrong

The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me? (Psalm 118:6)

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? (Romans 8:31)

Have you ever heard the saying that there are seasons in life? This is just one of those seasons of life is a saying I hear sometimes. But they are not as predictable as Fall after Summer, right? Rebekah and I have boxes of winter clothes and boxes of summer clothes. When we begin to realize the gradual cooling of the weather, I can casually go into the attic, retrieve what we need, and pack up the other stuff.

All that to say, I believe the saying is wrong. Life seems to be a bit more tumultuous. Tosses and turns are common. Twists and suddenness happen. The saying is wrong! It should be something like, this is just one of those weather patterns of life! Even as a young man, I am certain that you do not always have time to discern the weather, go to the attic, and get the right clothes. What are we to do? This week, apply these Bible verses with me. What does it really mean to acknowledge that God is on our side? What does it mean to believe that no one (and no thing!) can be against us because God is for us? Pray on these things. Ponder on these things. Watch your mighty God provide for you in the weather patterns of life.

Blessings, Jeremiah
