A Prayer In The Key Of Psalm 103:6-13

Would you continue with me in these guided prayers? I need them, and perhaps God is leading you to say the same. Remember, I have written these while I spoke them myself (this time, from Psalm 103:6-13); therefore, I encourage you to pray this prayer out loud, too. May God bless the endeavor, and may he bless you today!

The LORD works righteousness and justice for all who are oppressed.

God, your Word is so timely! And your Work is always on time! Will you give me an eye for the oppressed? Will you give me a heart to act?

He made known his ways to Moses, his acts to the people of Israel.

For you are always acting on behalf of your people. You show yourself in power and mercy, in justice and love, in control and gentleness.

The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.

Father, even as I think of the countless acts on your people’s behalf, your mercy, grace, patience, and lasting love cement your character in my heart and mind.

He will not always chide, nor will he keep his anger forever.

But my sin is ever before me—hindering me! You love and love and love, and I sin and sin and sin! I know what I deserve even when I don’t say it. But I also know…

He does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our iniquities.

My Father and my God, I cannot understand why, but I do see how! You sent your son Jesus for me! He has taken my sin and iniquity that you might deal with me bountifully!

For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us.

O my God, in Jesus sorrow is now salvation, pain is now provision, and despair is delight. My sin is paid for and my righteousness is yours! I praise you, my Father, for sending salvation to me! I praise you, O Son, for providing salvation for me! I praise you, Holy Spirit, for working salvation in me!

As a father shows compassion to his children, so the LORD shows compassion to those who fear him.

Your character leaves me astounded and speechless, silent and joyful, humble and overcome! Your compassion knows no bounds to those you call family, so I will worship and praise you all the more. Keep teaching me more about you, my God. Keep giving me that which I need to grow. Keep stirring in me to show who you are, my Father. Do it for your glory in the heavens and below!

In Jesus’ name,

Amen!
